COURT REAFFIRMS KASAMU'S EXPULSION FROM PDP



The Peoples Democratic Party’s Powers To Discipline Any Erring Member was reaffirmed on Thursday by Hon Justice Valentine B. Ashi of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

According to statement issued by Kola Ologbodiyan, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, he said matter with suit No:FCT/HC/ 0303/2017 between PDP vs Senator Buruji Kashamu, Chief Makinjuola Ogundipe, Alhaji Adewale Adeyanju, Engr Adebayo Dayo & INEC was concluded with the ruling of the court which affirmed the powers of the PDP as provided in its constitution to discipline and punish any erring member who contravenes any of the provisions of her constitution.

Ologbodiyan noted that the party through the erstwhile National Caretaker Committee (NCC) in November 2017 in the wake of growing indiscipline and recalcitrances of Senator Buruji Kashamu, Chief Makinjuola Ogundipe , Alhaji Adewale Adeyanju, Engr Adebayo Dayo & INEC issued an Originating Summons against them praying the court amongst others to declare that the party has powers to discipline and punish them or any member who disobeys the party decision or embarks on acts inimical to the interest of the party or capable of bringing the party to disrepute or ridicule.

The court followed the Supreme Court decision in PDP vs Sheriff which reaffirmed the supremacy of the party over all members and the responsibility and duty of members to obey all decisions of the party or quit, Ologbodiyan said.

ADEBUTU MEANS WELL FOR OGUN STATE - KASHAMU

Senator Buruji Kashamu has finally succumbed and surrendered in the ongoing PDP feud in Ogun State as he made a public declaration of the facts that Oladipupo Adebutu means well for Ogun State. Kashamu said, "I was not even ready for the race. I had no intention to run for any office. I need to rest. We have tried our best in nation building. Adebutu is energetic, sound and prepared to man the affairs of Ogun State. We will support him. We have to respect party leadership. We are party loyalists too". Kashamu went further to call on all his supporters to accord Adebutu the needed supports to get him to the office. He said, "for a better Ogun State Administration, only Adebutu means well. He has no criminal records or financially related issues with anyone. Hence, let's all give him the supports".

OGUN PDP: COURT TO DELIVER JUDGEMENT TOMORROW

The Appeal court sitting in Ibadan on Monday, 17th December declared Tuesday, 18th December as date to deliver its judgement on the matter brought before it by the Peoples Democratic Party against the Bayo Dayo led group sponsored by Senator Buruji Kashamu on an order of interlocutory injunction granted by the Federal High Court in Abeokuta on the 2nd of October, 2018. The proceeding which lasted over two hours had the counsel to the plaintiff, Emeka Etiaba SAN, further buttressed his position as earlier presented in the Appellant's filled briefs hammering on Non service and Lack of fair hearing. Emeka Etiaba SAN, established why the order granted by Justice Abubakar should be vacated and justification for the Appellant's prayers.
